Brothers
those innocent days
with my two young brothers
are sweet memories to recall
when we spent our days dreaming
oh, how I loved to tell them stories
as we snuggled close together
how, I wish to turn back the pages
to those innocent days
those days of simplicity
when the future was far away
I wish that I could have protected them
from all the struggles
that they have faced in life
but, today my mind only wants yesterday
when I snuggled with
my brothers and life was innocent
and when joy came so easily
in the telling of made-up stories
to two little boys
