** For my talented brother, Michael T. Barden, who I love with all my heart. **   (The photo is my brother, age six, and me, age 1 in 1959).

You've always been the keeper of my ease, The worth of my well-being, as your own, And every good contingent you could seize, Was shared, and never held for you alone ... (Despite the seeds of error I have sown). We've come so far in life, tho' rather bruised, And now I need to tell you something, true, Though "brother" is a word too often used ... I'd not have learned its meaning ... but for you. ~ 2nd Place ~ in the "Nine Lines To Let Them Know Everything Is Fine" Poetry Contest, Silent One, Sponsor & Judge.

This goes beyond my ability to express the emotions. He must be so proud to have a brother whose awareness of the value of being and having a brother is so well expressed. Loved this. Only child so can't imagine the connection!

So endearing and beautifully written, Greg. The bonds of brotherhood are sometimes taken for granted, but are so powerfully present, especially in a time of need, as I've recently witnessed in our family. Congratulations on your fine podium win. Sandra :) <3

Greg, I had a younger brother. I hope he learned from me. Th Lord called him Home 2 years ago but the bond as brothers that we shared lives on. Your tribute is a great way to let your brother know the meaning of the word love. Congrats on your placement.
