Bird,S Eye
BIRD’S EYE
He sails above the city valley
This bird
This bird of paradise
Oh he’s not the familiar, many colored fowl…
Well?
Many colored, yes.
But not the New Guinea variety of creatures
struggling to survive
No
This flyer has purpose
He’s heaven’s own eye
And he watches,
Watches from high above the crowded, jumbled
skyscrapers.
Watches those civilized ants racing along
to somewhere –
God only knows where –
And he quite often calls down,
His sweet falsetto urging,
Urging the racers to stop -
STOP! –
To gather together
In a profound silence
And listen to his song
