BETWEEN THE SPACES OF A POEM, I WAIT

BETWEEN THE SPACES OF A POEM, I WAIT

The truth in a poem lies in the empty spaces between the words
salvation lies where the sad blue notes sting and cling
but the ever constant pain has settled in my soul

My love lies in the fathomless depth of your green eyes
and leads me to sorrowful unknown minor chords
you’re gone but your melody embedded in my heart remains
and won't let go

My salvation is in your words pointing me to your imminent return
If it weren’t for the empty spaces in the words you spoke haltingly
my hope would nestle and wait in joyous expectation
