Imagine a thousand fireflies blinking at the same time, not a fly and not a bug but a glowing, flashing beetle; as a child I caught one in a jar and named him Cecile, in a marsh among the long dense grass they climb. Father said, let Cecile go for his life is only a few days, so now, I just stand and appreciate their lantern displays; imagine a thousand fireflies blinking at the same time. ____________________________ October 4, 2019 Poetry/Rhyme/Cecile the Firefly Copyright Protected, ID 19-1186-170-02 All Rights Reserved. oh my gosh, I am so silly. I did not know that was a firefly when I looked at his contest. I was thinking it might be a fairy. did you enlarge the picture or something. With the help of your poem I can see clearly now what it is!! I adore these insects and I think you wrote so charmingly of them here. I miss them. They don't come to Utah

Hi Andrea, yes it was hard to see but I did zoom in on it, they are endangered because of loss of habitat, pollution and pesticides so probably in the future fireflies will be no more , thanks for visiting and for the compliment !
