Back to me

This my nothing-happy,
my stone-faced bliss,
this is my sweet release
from grinning artifice.
I am floating on zero,
life-sloughed and stuff-free,
I am guileless, I am tribeless,
I am back to me.

A fascinating penetration of the ‘who/what am I questions - if I have understood you - zero, but with infinite (optional) potential. I made some allusion to this in my refs to ‘Bare Infinitive’ you put it more succinctly and personally. I am impressed with this as with many of your poems.

Thank you Geoffrey, appreciate it. Yes it’s about stripping away preconceptions, expectations and possessions and just getting back to “point zero”. Where, like you say, potential is endless but the “me” in the poem isn’t too worried about that for now. The “me” is just being!

What did you take? Scratch that, I won't even ask you to share and should be ashamed to bring flippancy to a page holding such a gem of a poem. I'm not but realize I should be. This feeling you speak of is such a big deal when it comes to us and you delivered that big in just a few volumous lines. Yes, I made up 'volumous' but I it works for this poem (why use so many letters for voluminous.) You nailed volumous! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Haha thank you CayCay! Voluminous I’ll take! Yes finding those “me” moments is so special and precious. I wish you many “me” moments!
