As Silence Reigns

As Silence Reigns The sun burns its dark crystals in my mind the maple tree oozes its sticky flesh, as the silence reigns Begging sky cries from sun and its scorching flames as blinded ground wakes to scampering winds, their voices roaring into eternity as the silence reigns The flower meadows reach for gasping tones, demanding Nature plunge about its glories and in their frenzy, miss dancing clouds above as the silence reigns The life that invades this body mine, seeks control over sad singing heart to smother love's bounty and allow Time to eat eternity, as the silence reigns Robert J. Lindley, 5-23-2019 Free verse, ( A darkened look into Earth, Life and Eternity ) a poem fragment, comes and stops I that stomp ripe grapes with my feet grasp at shadows from falling leaf, yet fearful of darkness I meet ever mindful of souls in grief. Make wine from grapes plucked by hand pray aloud, as barefoot I stand. A fragment that sets its own sails over waters shimmering deep stray-shot arrows, that heart impales within darken dreams life tells O' pain let mercy see thy face as sorrows replay youth's disgrace.

Thank you my friend. The second poem is only a fragment, one that I intend on getting back to in order to complete it.

It is in moments of silence that we perceive the beauty which surrounds us...the realization of sadness & joy...the understanding of oneself. Both the above poems lead me to that place where I can find myself in contemplation. // Your pen will never run dry, my friend. // Have a nice weekend ~ paul

There are times when pain and sorrow rule the heart and at those times joy and serenity cannot be present. Let solace come from the dripping blood of your pen. Excellent Robert...especially the last part! ; ) xxoo
