No, Chris is not coming back, I am just posting our collaborations from time to time :)
The mornings hurt
once supple now rusty
quick wits halt groaning
as curtains revert the sunlight
that makes its way to the stage
overhead thinking at a microphone
creaking voice - is that mine? -
joins in with frolicking beams
grumpy, in need of... what....
and the audience stares
confused? As much as I am?
Popcorn smiles in hot buttered nervousness
Wish I'd play the violin
then no one would hear the smoke
rasp in my microphone
while I burn up the concessions
creating a wistful sunset
at the very break of day
Make me a strong one
for the morning and
another for the night
