Words to be used - asseveration, axiomatic, asseveration

The right to live and seek happiness is an axiomatic truth for mankind. And the American constitution’s authors wrote down, that they were so inclined. Their reasons were purely altruistic they had no monetary incentive. Yet, they felt it was important enough to include those rights, as a preventive. They all signed this asseveration guaranteeing those basic rights to all. For everyone has the right to be free and on that day America stood tall. Today I saw students march for that right, a new generation, took up the fight. (Sonnet) Mar.29, 2018 Triple A Challenge - 14 lines Maximum - Poetry Contest Robert Haigh
