Always Be - 'Mine'
when the shadows fall far beneath the cradle,
too far for the wind to blow,
i feel the chill somewhere in the night-
clammy, it approaches and calmly i sigh;
how far does the world walk away,
or run in needed time?
i don’t know much, but there will always
be a pillow for me in your bed,
silk blanket folded open waiting for
me like tomorrow;
and there will always be room for me in your arms,
room like heaven,
and after i have entered,
nothing else matters,
nothing but the warmth felt;
there will always be a kiss waiting for me on your lips,
and when your move is made…so is my day-
when the shadows fall beneath the cradle, i feel the change,
running nowhere and everywhere
brought me to the mirror again,
same old face, same old me, all i see is opaque-
but other flowers died,
and little girls have cried
and i take one more sigh
and know there is always room on your chest for my head;
always a shirt on you to catch my tears
always a hand to run through my hair
always a voice to whisper your heart
i have been blessed to have your wings carry me,
through all that they have-
there will always be love for you…
deep within me
