All
As I look back these days,
over the years that have gone by...
faster than I thought they were moving
at the time I was living through them,
I find I miss every moment,
and long for their return.
We were family.
We believed as one.
Perhaps not all, but most.
The rest,
were still wandering,
but they would someday
find home again,
as to not,
was to be lost forever.
We loved one another.
We went to church...
We got married...
and we had children.
We learned jobs,
we had careers,
and a few went on adventures.
The world was a beautiful place.
"In God We Trust"
The pledge of allegiance was commonly recited.
The honor of our country, important
to the citizens, and the immigrants,
on their way here from around the world.
The talk of freedom: speech, religion, liberty,
universal meanings,
easy..
complex...
and deeply felt,
even by the ones that were
never allowed to read, or be,
anything but cattle.
The wisdom of years alone,
tells me to warn the children
of the coming storm.
It will be far more violent than any
we have ever seen to date.
They will not listen,
I know that.
They have all stepped away
and into the dark.
That does not mean the
I/we should not shout out the truth...
anyway.
That we should be loud,
enough so as,
to wake the dead,
and tell them,
time is short,
and God is coming!
