A Widow's Walk

When my neighbour's spouce Goes out to the sea She is left alone or a couple of months While he is gone She keeps occupied Going out with friends Or shopping alone In the late evening Sadness creeps upon her She feels very depressed Staring at the darkness So at night she climbs The staircase to the top Looks out to the sea Until he returns home

I find that women are much better at waiting. Men easily fall apart. Well I do. Gosh, she looks so forlorn.

You create a touching picture of this woman lost in loneliness, Darlene. She would also be riddled with worries about his safety...the sea can be very unforgiving! Regards // paul

Yes it is sad because her husband is out to sea for 3 months, and she does not know what to do with herself. She use to be my neighbour. She is a strong person. I know her well.

Interesting. I have to wonder how many know what a widow's walk is. Maybe I've seen too many old sailing movies, but I could picture the lady looking out to sea with wind blown hair. I love it.
