A Tune of Hope
The band begins, and puppets
in tangled strings start to dance.
Its rhythm is hypnotic,
and all seems fine at first glance.
They all dip and whirl as one,
keeping in sync with the beat.
But I can't follow their lead,
it's like I've got two left feet.
Their compulsory moves
cannot accommodate all.
But if you can't dance to them,
you are escorted from the ball.
My music sounds different,
floating above their clamor.
For it's tethered to my heart,
not tied to wealth or glamor.
I perceive a tune of hope
in its original form.
And it's invigorating;
taking me beyond the norm.
