A Summer's Day
A sunny day, the sky was blue;
the sea was of the same shade too.
The flag was flapping in the breeze,
the only sound, save gulls, and bees
collecting pollen from the flowers.
I sat and dreamed, content for hours.
And seated by the castle keep,
relaxed, they drank, their dogs asleep,
and gazed at islands far below,
the couple I shall never know.
