A Rose's Scent

They say that a nose knows -- But what does it know? It knows a rose's scent, and many other a flower It knows the sweet breath of an early Spring shower It knows where there's fire or mortal danger It knows who's familiar and who is a stranger It knows the forest trail and the mountain's peak a fertile valley, buried treasure, the flow of a creek It knows when a lover is brimming with desire the warmth of the sun, and something much higher

Thanks for the FAVE designation, Kim. It's always a surprise for me and makes my day as well. Best wishes, Gershon

Gershon, you consistently select such interesting subject matter and transform even the mundane into a unique thing of beauty! Well done!

For some odd reason, the first time I read this I was convinced it was a monorhyme. I think this is because of the wonderful rhythm of it. Well done indeed! I imagine school is called off in Chicagoland today! We do not go here either.
