Dad, I said I would come and be with you.
I had to sell my home in Oregon;
we naturally hoped, but had no clue
when it would sell; we could pack and be gone.
I had to sell my home in Oregon.
So much despair you felt since I wasn't near.
When it would sell; we could pack and be gone.
You bid me to stay, with many a tear.
So much despair you felt since I wasn't near
your anguish made you increasingly frail.
You bid me to stay, with many a tear.
With closed eyes, and your last breath, your strength fail.
Your anguish made you increasingly frail
we naturally hoped, but had no clue.
With closed eyes, and your last breath, your strength fail.
Dad, I said I would come and be with you.
