A Penny For Your Thoughts
My mind once silent comes without despair
To guide decisions, as there is due cause
Follow good reason to which I'm aware
and find quiet moments so I may pause
To be alone, to seek answers within
Explore thoughts from a perspective traveled
I'll reach further back, relive where I've been
and weigh cost due when life unraveled
I've never cared to collect things to own
Rather sought peace in a world that's gone mad
A breath once given travels what's unknown
To harvest wisdom, none of which I had
To ponder, to think, to reach far beyond
Then let not madness surround or respond
contest A Penny for your Thoughts
