A Need To Write

I always need to write Poetry is my passion An idea comes to mind When I am in deep slumber Then I awake to write words With the title down on paper These ideas come in a dream When I awake in the morn I look at the title first From there I create my poem My pen writes until it stops Until my thoughts run out A poem can be long or short The length does not matter I need to create poetry It is my passion to write

Darlene, thank you so much for a very descriptive way that for those of us who like to write poetry and the way that you have expressed your feelings is what most of us feel at times. When the words are being thought, I know I must jot down those words. My premise for my work work is that I have to have a beginning, a middle and end and it has to tell story. Wherever I am a poem comes to mind...mine is usually the first words and hopefully there is a pen and paper nearby. The worst ideas are the ones people try to give me. Sometimes ideas fizzle...they weren’t worth their weight in gold. The magic of writing...enjoy, my friend!
