A Letter To Grandma

Translated by Przemyslaw Musialowski 5/27/2019

I'm writing my letter to you, dear Grandma,
because black thoughts keep me up at night,
please, send to me a fairy queen
Let she rook me gently to sleep,

let she tell me a tall tale again
or sing sweet lullabies to me,
so that in the morning I may wake up
somewhere in the magical oakwood,

among white lilies and daisies blue
and could knock down the rays with my bare feet
from petals covered with shiny dew
and let everything afterwards will be

just like in your stories drawn from life,
where there were horses and a wooden carriage
a handsome prince and beautiful princess
and heroes brave and real.
