A Grinch Remembers
A Grinch Remembers
I’ll don my favorite bowing cape
spread it wide and let it drape
create its own “you are so great”
unless in line I have to wait
to feed the egos, let them sate
on scattered food, spread on the plate
to celebrate his passing date.
He dipped his pen in childish ink
dressed the Lorax twins in pink
the Grinch in green he made a stinker
Green Eggs and Ham to stir your thinker
and Cindy Lou, not more than two
made us wonder “what would we do?.
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish
allowed us to draw gooey goo fish.
How can he be gone, yet still be here?
Perhaps he’s not gone anywhere
Perhaps he’ll always be as near
as a Who and a Grinch with a book to share.
