A Christmas Snow
The window panes frosted before the night
While winds blow through the naked trees
I'll sit and watch with childlike delight
The soft falling snow that dances with ease
Frozen crystals will find a different form
The emotion is warm as serenity sings
The Christmas lights have their platform
I'll watch the snowfall, the beauty it brings
To see a painting framed before my eyes
That hangs in stillness and covering all
The wonder and calmness can mesmerize
As I watch creation and feel in awe
To enter this painting with due respect
To see each fragile flake and its design
To know that man is not the architect
Makes my soul shiver and my heart align
This blessing paints a purer shield
To ease the mind from its daily spin
That leaves my footprints in a covered field
To look back at tracks, to see where I've been
