Sleep
Sleep,
like snow,
you fall on
me and deeply
I go under. Sweet
Slumber, smother me with
pearly flakes; then change into
your pitch black cloak. Embrace me like
a lover; pleasure me with dreams while
you suck from me the day’s realities.
Dawn comes. My dark caller flees. Quick, to your
casket speed! I can trust you’ll return
to wrap me in oblivion.
I’ll wait for after dusk when
you will softly creep and
deeply bury me.
Come first, sweet Sleep,
and fall on
me like
snow.
