Who could remedy our hopeless state ? Not one of us if truth be told. Who could lead us through Lifes' precious gate where the streets we walk are pure gold. Who could come untouched of sin's stain and do what only He could do ? Who could give all that we might gain the Way to a Life that is new ? O Lord, are You not just such a One who saves us from the dark depths of sin ? O Lord, are You not just such a One who redeems from the plight we were in ? We would have been given to despair if One such as You had not come. But Life through Your death we now declare that others find Life through the Son. (Footnote: I awoke to the line: Just such a One)
