Images

Images of broken dreams~ scattered along the pavement;  Shall I pick them one by one,  or simply walk barefooted over them? But I, I want to pick them one by one- up to the smallest piece, to make them whole again and bring them to your doorstep so that you may know... that love survives~ in the fragility of dreams.

Brilliant ending, always keep the faith, life is full of broken dreams and forgotten promises, but we must stay strong as other dreams will come along... Congratulations on your placement in the contest..

Perhaps you can reconstruct Humpty Dumpty in the process. The King’s men were not up to the task. This piece was indeed lovely.

This lovely poem oozes positivity. Others would have given up on broken dreams, but you, instead, pick up the pieces and show that you are ready to give them another chance. ~ Regards // paul

I like what you did with your hope-filled message. I see you were gone from Soup for a while, but are back. Many poets have taken a break, myself included. It is nice to have your poetry and presence here, especially during pandemic. Stay safe.

Simple and direct...but powerful in its effect. My favourite poet, Ezra Pound, would have approved of your poetry I think. I do not know if you have ever read any Pound? But if not may I suggest: "Fan Piece, For Her Imperial Lord", "In a Station of the Metro", "Francesca" (a great favourite of mine) and finally "For The Seven Lakes". This last poem (Canto XLIX) forms part of his great unfinished, life-long work..."The Cantos". Keep up the good work, JayCee! My very best regards. :) john

I truly enjoyed the way you scattered the thoughts about and then picked them up to reconstruct; it reminded me of what the armed services do to build up the troops. Nicely done.
