Friendship and Rainbows

Poem was inspired by the song You raise me up. I am fortunate I don’t suffer from depression but I know many who do. I adore rainbows they always make me smile!

I'm downhearted, I won’t rouse from bed as melancholia has now taken over. A huge black cloud hanging above me, dark mist swirls about in my head. My mobile rings, it’s my best friend who tells from my voice I feel down, we arrange to meet up for a natter, on her support I can always depend. I open drapes to see a bright rainbow its vibrant colors give my heart a lift. Sun rays peeping through dark clouds, I feel uplifted and I no longer feel low. Pure fiction KIm I'm coping really well despite hubby being away for his cancer treatment, I'm lucky i dont suffer from depression but know many who struggle:-( hugs Jan xx

I'm lucky I don't suffer from depression and discovered writing poetry when my hubby had his cancer surgery and that has got me through the toughest times of my life. he is currently on week 4 of r6 1/2 weeks of radio therapy , I only see him at weekends but am bearing up well:-) hugs jan xx

thanks Peter I know many turn to writing to ease their depression so glad you are back on soup there are too many missing these days, many of my old friends have now left the site it is such a shame:-( hugs jan xx
