Dear Snowflake

A snowflake dropped from the clouds Unto our roof it bewildered the crowd It is so sensitive and so sweet With a heart courageous and ready to speak It survived the heat and the harsh weather For it is always prepared for any situation's nether One day, I got to meet it And enjoyed every moment with it on the roof's cliff We talked together whenever I had time As we shared gossips with one another's chime Amazing were the moments with it For they are candles always lit In the pathway of memories Stored in my wall of armories I smiled at it as I passed by Expressing the happiness I felt with thy Yet, as the horrible news was announced, My smile slowly hid, For it was about my friend; the snowflake I rushed to where it would wake To prove the news' fake, But, the snowflake shook its head Approving the news was true indeed, I couldn't believe what I just heard, Though it was said by my friend, I couldn't let go and walk away, I felt so lost and astray The sun lighted the ground As the tidings spread around, Aches of sadness stroke through eyes Allowing tears to pour with many cries, Days are left and the news shall take place While some ignore and others enjoy every moment in front of its face, I can't forget so easily For it is a friend that is sincerely Signed on one of my pages of memory But, I enjoy every moment I have left with it Enduring every smile and laugh I share with it For the news was: " I shall melt by the end of this year and never come back, I shan't forget every moment with you, that's a fact, Yet again I have to leave and let go Leaving many beloved simply go, Remember me, for I shall never forget you, Remember the good times, for they shall never anew... Love you all Sincerely, Snowflake " Tears shall fly with you my friend as you depart Into the wilderness of life you shall start, Forget me not, my friend, Forget me not, dear snowflake....

This is wonderfully imaginative! Very pretty poem! Thank you for your comment on my poem but it is strictly fictional - don't know where the idea came from - my Grandpa was a wonderful man but I hardly knew him as he lived in England, and I only saw him once after we moved to Canada..
