Day Dreamer

A boy she secretly adores now stands beyond the doorway, and his eyes, grey blue, are fixed on her. A rose is in his hands. Her heart is fluttering. What should she do? A sheltered girl, required to spend her time on music practice and the study of the scriptures, she prefers the art of rhyme and topics like the rapture of true love! The young man watching her has now drawn near. He’s come to rescue her from drudgery! Embracing her, he whispers in her ear familiar words - her own sweet poetry! She’s called to dinner. All thought leaves her head. The lover and her muse - with him - have fled!

Wow! Simply superb Andrea. I love every poetic line of your sweet sonnet, especially the last stanza and final couplet. The rhythm - amazing, the rhymes - awesome, and the content - completely captivating! An enchanting and enthralling poem.. is this autobiographical by any chance..? I get a feeling you're the day dreamer.. :)) Such a great write. Warmest wishes. ~Susan
