The man a shadow in her room
a ghostly apparition dim and obscure.
He watched her sleeping in the dark
her hair shining in the moonlight
her lips ruby and lush and skin so delicate.
He moved . . .
towards the sleeping beauty.
Passing a mirror . . . the reflection
of a skeleton form, vague and hazy moving.
A transformation, a dark silhouette of a man
leaning over for a sweet kiss.
He lingered
hesitating, he lifted beauty . . .
Walking the winding path of a cemetery
the two were a silhouette against the sky.
She was found in the morning in forever sleep.

walking a tombstones mile ... every wrinkle a past smile ... from coffin to bones ... our remains ... Will be known ... what flesh past caress has been touched ... what tunnel vision must be crushed ... time for silent roses to weep new thorns ... just a glimpse into the future ... new found wombs should mourn ... daylight comes from the other side ... within the light ... there is no dark to hide ...
