A Different Point of View
As I look up at the night time sky, I see something that catches my eye. It’s not a bird and it’s not a plane. If I don’t find out, I’ll go insane. At first, it looks like a falling star. At second glance, looks more like a car. This thing I see turns sharp to the right Heading back out into the dark night. Now, I’ve heard of strange things in the air Flying around, making people scared. I never thought I’d be one of those Who would say, “I saw something and froze!” But whatever I saw late that night Made me quiver to the bone with fright. I never believed in U.F.O.s, But I’m thinking now I should, who knows? I didn’t think anything could survive Outside of the world in which I thrive. Growing up, I heard lots of stories, But there was one that made me worry. It was of a place full of bad things Where the creatures cared about nothing. “Earth” is what all the elders called it. If it exists, I’ll never visit. I like my home here on planet Mars. This is where my friends and family are.
