The Bishop's Boy
The Bishop’s Boy A bishop’s boy once saw a girl in the north woods by the way. Clear to both was more to be than just that July day. The bishop scoffed, angrily on hearing his son’s find. "Her ancestors come from the church in the woods definitely not the marrying kind. impoverished people up to no good.” On the heels of the summer wind they would ride as he vowed forever to be true sharing great love under paradise skies “Just think of me. I’ll come to you.” Seasons changed from summer to fall. The bishop’s boy suddenly ceased to call. Someone in the north woods said he’d married. That put a bane on the child she carried. A girl was born at break of dawn who would question in her heart each day, "Where is my father? Where has he gone?” ‘Your true father’s in heaven her mother would say. At 19 years, the child tragically died on a bridge at night in the north woods. Now with her heavenly Father she abides in the hands of the ultimate good. And this is written upon her grave “HERE LIES THE BEST THING THE BISHOP’S BOY GAVE.” 11/3/17 Love Story Sponsored by Silent One
