Flutterbies
It’s hard to say the last time that I felt this way. These feelings have come up once or twice in my life. I believe that the last time was on my wedding day. I was so nervous about getting married to my wife. I got this funny tingling in the middle of my heart. It was telling me something great was about to begin. I knew at that moment that we would never be apart. There would be no challenge together we couldn’t win. The first time I felt this tingling, I was only seven. I had a crush on a girl from the moment we met. We were in second grade and her name was Catherine. She was a black kitten for Halloween; I’ll never forget. I remember the second time that I felt like this. It was May of 1990, and I was about to graduate. Most of my family was there, but two were amiss. My grandpa and great-grandma couldn’t make that date. I know that they were watching proudly from above, But I still wanted to look out and see them there. By far, the thing that I’m certainly most proud of Is that my family has always showed that they care. So, here I am now about to have my first child, And my family is here waiting with teary eyes. I realize now what this tingling is, it’s so wild. The feelings are my family; I call them my Flutterbies.
