Night Cloak
Each night sheds its cloak morning sun rises touching the tree tops slow and steady easing forth. it drapes the earth soft and warm with light slipping out of transient shadows short and solemn on the dew. Budding late bloom morning glories trumpet in the new day cobalt blue opening wide stretching high to touch the day. Two dozen trumpeteers calling and tantalizing the wind for a gentle swaying waltz in the dance to bid goodbye to spring life. The sycamores shaded grays peel bent twisted regalia of sticky balls folding dry brittle falling star leaves. All the landscape awakes to warmth and light groggy with sleep basking in the morning cool ready to greet October days. The seasonal changing of the guard wafting autumn in the air fading blue azure skies to gray white fall puts on the cloak of winter's cold night.
