My Corner
“My Corner” Like thistles to a thorn, or flowers to a garden, life can hurt or heal your pain Nothing is sacred in life as we gather our stones to build our walls Those with access to the world around us can destroy our every smile The world we call life is angrier then a bird in the mouth of a snake Not able to survive on foods for the gods I am left to scrape empty fountains Lost in a world where I don’t fit in, I am left to wander through empty alleys No matter how strong I feel today the weakness always returns tomorrow I just want to know whose life I belong in if it’s not the life I call my own Unable to feel secure with life’s events I lock myself away in the corner where I sit alone Here in this dark corner I cannot be hurt from those deemed to make me crash Those out there to make themselves look better by showing off the faults of others Not willing to look at their own faults by destroying a family innocently trying to survive So like the eagle flying highly above you looking for its prey. I ride upon its wings Searching for my way through life’s tangled lines of yarn strewn about like kitten’s toys I will find my life even if it’s not where I think it to be, some way some day One day I will stand again and forget about those wishing I was locked away in my corner.
