Support Your Troops
Support Your Troops Is it wrong to care about your countrymen? Or is it wrong to leave our freedoms upon their sin? Is it wrong to weep upon their demise? Or is it wrong to cheer amongst their cries? Is it wrong to want fathers for our children tomorrow? Or is it wrong to wish for our soldiers to feel such sorrow? Is it wrong to want to bring them home? Or Is it wrong to leave them out to roam? Is it wrong to want to love instead of hate? Or is it wrong to put a seal amongst their fate? Is it wrong to encourage a husband to be with his wife? Or is it wrong to ask another to give up his right to life? Tell me if it is not supporting your troops The many protesting and jumping through hoops Just to bring them safely into our hands Just to bring them back home from all these foreign lands? To our backbone, we love so dear We wish we could hug you, and hold you near. We are sorry, the future brought upon your youth We are sorry, we did not seek the truth We are sorry, for what you have been forced to do We are sorry, for the torture you have been put through We are sorry, for the lonely nights We are sorry, for the endless fights We are sorry, for the tears you cry We are sorry, so many of you, were forced to die We are sorry, for the sick, and the jailed We are sorry for the innocent men, women, and children that we have failed We are sorry, for the countless fear we hold We are sorry, for not listening, to the things being told We are sorry, for not being honorable, in our choices We ask for forgiveness, and hope you hear our voices.
