One Last Kiss
That one last kiss still ripples through my cells, like greenish snake's venom, a terrible spell. Your silence still rings in my battered ears, one thousand birds singing through tears. Words you hissed to me, I remember them well. I tried to push away dreaded farewells, but you just wanted to keep walking on eggshells. They said you were born from poison, now I know their fears. That's why it still ripples through my skin. I'd give you the moon, you'd ask for stars, "dearest." Your shaky palms in mine-I'll not shed a tear. Even though cosmos tore after I fell, purple scars remain on my makeshift shell. Humid breath on my neck, you're much too near, still, one stinging kiss ripples through my skin.
