She pulls herself free, staggering to her knees; She gets up, and approaches me saying “help me, please!” Nightmares…. She tells me they’re coming and looks over her shoulder; Decaying looking men coming! Running! And my skin grows colder Nightmares…. It’s a foot race. I run with her along side me; I see terror on her face. “We must escape this city!” Nightmares… To the left, we did turn, running down an alleyway; My lungs begin to burn It was such a grey, gloomy day. Nightmares… Closer were those crazed men; I would protect myself and my new friend. A wall and a trash bin, me and the girl found ourselves at a dead-end! Nightmares…. Now where to go, but up the trash bin and over the wall; I heard her yell, “No!” Chills ran through me. I looked back, I watched her fall! Nightmares… Last I saw the look in her eyes as she was buried beneath those evil men; The blood on her tattered blouse and Levi’s; never to be seen again. Nightmares….
