Memories Remain Even After You'Re Gone
I used to be your best friend And back then you were mine But that time has come to an end Thought maybe that was a sign We fell in love way too fast And you know what they say About things like that from your past Yet still to this day Every now and again I think back to what used to be Still hear those songs that remind me of way back then You meant the world to me Seems like so long ago Those memories slowly fade to grey And that man I no longer know 5 years later here I lay Late at night writing one more time About the love we used to share Still I find the words for another rhyme To write about how much we used to care A love I used to know so well You would think after all this time There'd be nothing left to say And with that I'd be fine But then that song begins to play And I think about that dance That night in our favorite bar I was foolish to think we stood a chance Thought you were my wish upon a star But instead of being my blessing You became what you said you'd never be And you turned into just another lesson But by far the hardest for me Still I found the courage to cope Found a way to get thru your goodbye Now someone new gives me hope And I find with him my hopes are high So now all I can do Is wish you the best my old friend Cuz I finally got over you Even if your memory never ends!!
