The Girl Inside
I sit here staring out the window Seeing everyone scurrying down below And the sun fighting to be seen But the clouds keep coming seems kinda mean And that's when I realized It came to me as a surprise There in the sky It was as if I saw my life, no lie Always trying to do for everyone around me And the smaller more beautiful things I just don’t see Somewhere along life's journey, seems I've lost my way Not sure of where to go or what to say Now here in this time and place Seems like none of that matters in such a confused place All I can think about is getting out But these doctors are so full of doubt All they see is the girl that fell down Now all of a sudden on my head there seems to be a depression crown But the truth is they don't know me One part of me is all they see They don't know the girl that loves with all her heart They don't know the girl people turn to when everything falls apart They've only seen the weakest side of me But the truth is there's so much more to see They see the girl who’s having a hard time But they know nothing about the girl writing this rhyme Truth be told her and I are one in the same And no I don't see this as a game I'm the girl who made a huge mistake But from this lessons learned I will take And never again will I let things go this far This I promise on my very own shooting star!
