My Dreamy Meander
This is my humble tribute to our dear Soup member Andrea Dietrich, using some of her poem titles. This is actually inspired by a contest named "Title Wave", that was sponsored by our Soup member Richard Lamoureux last year, in which I did not enter, but had always wanted to write one Title wave poem using other poets' titles. Thank you Richard Lamoureux for the inspiration and thank you dear Andrea for the wonderful titles in pages and pages of poems you had contributed to Soup. It was so much fun writing this. I wish that I/we find time to read more of the exquisite inspiring poems of Andrea, that she has contributed to Soup. (Below, the titles of Andrea's poems that I have used for this tribute poem for her are in quotes. I have not capitalized the words within the titles as they were) "It was one of those mornings" of "one sunny sweet sunflower day" from a nice refreshing sleep, I had just woken up, "when skies were bright" with "the brilliant light" - "dreaming into the day", I found myself "on avenues of aimless end" and into a brief reverie, I fell! In that moment, so oneiric, "as I drift" "along the shady paths of vivid green" over an enchanting garden - oh! "how beautiful" that idyllic spot "of butterflies and rose buds" where I saw "a kaleidoscope of butterflies". There, slowly I did alight to see " the fairest of all roses". Drifting again, in my chimera, through the fresh morning air, I travelled pretty far in that dreamy state until I revelled in "miles of smiles" greeting me: a moment "when hope shines out". Now, I could feel "a kiss of sunshine" on my face - Oh, "what bliss the summer brings!" As I continued to meander, I saw a young girl with an angelic face "feeding the ducklings" "in a distant field". In the middle of my dreamy drift, as I reached a lush valley of rolling hills, "through the mist" I could see now "the hills are alive" with green pastures and I feel I am "on top of the world". "Somewhere", far "away", from the thickets I do hear "the sweetest song" of birds: Aw, "the woodland's lullaby", "the waltz of the leaves", those delicate pink " "cherry blossoms", and the trees with "bountiful berries bring bliss" to my wearied soul forever - "tick tock tick tock".... the tick tock of the bedroom clock tickles my tireless thoughts of sweet dreamy rambles as now I gently wake up from my reverie...
