Snowy Travel
Slipping and sliding on glazed, snowy roads No plows in sight and no sand to unload Maybe no-one paid their taxes this year The roads may be this bad for miles I fear I am gripping the steering wheel, very tight All I can see is two tire tracks in white It’s a long ride through this storm that won’t end As the snow still falls, with a safe message to send On the way home, roads are clear to the pavement Quality of this day time, ended up well spent Now, I had the chance to take my eyes off the street Enjoy the scenery I passed, a wintry treat Bushes were covered like cotton balls, with snow Evergreen branches hung over real low Wind blew clouds of snow in bursts, passing through Winter shaking and flying, flakes fresh and new Suddenly, from gray a globe of sun peeked some light With gratitude for what could have been a plight I arrive safely home to comfort and warmth inside Now, I look through the window at winter outside Heidi Sands 12/3/19
