My Unhappy Halloween
It used to be fun when I was a kid; I wanted to do what the others did. The children would go from door-to-door, And soon there'll be something waiting in store. They're in costumes saying, "Trick or treat!" And their bags are filled with good things to eat. My little heart was filled with joy, For I was just an 8 year old boy. "This will be the best Halloween", I said. So I ran downstairs to Mom and Dad. I begged and pleaded, "Please can we go?" But my parents looked right at me and said, "No!" I couldn't believe what I just heard; I'm stuck in the house like a cooped up jailbird. I missed an event that is yearly celebrated And went back to my room feeling devastated. Now that I'm older, I have realized: What's the point of wearing a disguise? This is what I know for sure: Halloween is no fun for me anymore.
