What If I Had Turned Left
"I gaze blankly at a spot in the sky, Wondering what’s ahead of me and why Why because of where I have been, Should I have changed events and when What if i turned right, instead of left, Or if I made a different request Would the road I have traveled be different, Or similar and strangely reminiscent Are we then bound by fate, Even if we join life’s party late So doing over a stretch of time, Won’t help the current presence of mine Because you really can’t go back, And change things matter of fact That past is yours forever, Your memories are license to reconsider The events of that time, And the portions which survive Because distance and time, Change the perspective of mine Whether it’s to bury the hurt, Or the freedom to assert The who and why that I am, For each day matters that I began And continue to do, With memories I choose"
