The End
the message was sent in hopes of delivery to serve as a reminder of a love still glowing with an ember still alive. the seconds transferred to minutes as anxiety began to intoxicate with thoughts dangling between ignorance and not knowing both serving as a lead to a call that would be conclusive. the rings were successive as a heart stilled before faith and anticipation became erratic in response with memories fueling reconciliation for the call to end before an answer. the reply was followed as spirits fluttered at concern's familiarity with selflessness pervasive, even in 'selfishness' and the length of the effort only adding to its sincerity. the tears were delayed with the first read being rational and the following being a realisation of an unrequited love that was once requitted.
