Search of a Quirky Mind
SEARCH OF A QUIRKY MIND He looks up to the blue night’s sky Studded with sparkling jewels of stars He doesn’t count them, but asks why All these stars are there for, so far. In starless night under the blank dark sky He searches for the sign of stars in vain Discovers the hidden star in his child’s eye Decides he won’t search the sky for stars again. The splintered sea heaves in trudging tide high He watches the waves break far from the beach He doesn’t count them, but asks why The waves break, the shore they don’t reach. When the stirred sea becomes serene in the ebb He searches for the show of dancing waters in vain Discovers in his heart an ecstatic surge of wave Decides he won’t look for waves in the sea again. When the summer squall brings the rains along He watches on the face of leaves water drops roll He doesn’t count them, but asks how long It would take them to reach the tip and fall. In the drought struck harsh rainless days He searches for water drops on dying leaves in vain Discovers tear drops in his eyes behind the haze Decides he won’t search for rain drops on leaves again. This man builds and dwells in the world of his own People say he has a quirky mind and see his sanity gone.
