The Science of Fiction
Frankenstein’s monster bears not only his name but his own body-parts… heart, soul and spirit invested in all our creations; also given credit are Gods and angels, more than passive participants how they influence our minds: (Mary’s poetic truth, manipulating DNA’s-- new cures, and hells yet to come….) All science is fiction and all fiction our science—20,000 leagues of imagination; infinite for the swimmer as well the afoot, sorting grains of sand where the sea ends and the land-trek begins-- How far off is the next mystery, the alien in me asks?-- his serpent tongue and doe-like eyes, my terrestrial man and my demons--real as the absence of nose on his green face. We breathe in and out fiction, planted on dead trees or charged into space… what grows, may not be always truth but always a reality.
