Poem

Up the mountain, I saw these kids, 
Walking down and passing the crooked hills…
They were in colored shirts and checkered shorts, 
With pencils inserted on top of their ears,
It’s like how you used to see in most Engineers…

Their books and papers are on top of their head, 
Covering it from a misty day as they go ahead…
They have different colored slippers on their feet, 
It’s dirty, old and worn, it’s too big for their little feet…
It seems they don’t mind what they always wear, 
It’s the schooling, I know is what they really go after…

But one of them stared at me, as I watch them, as they pass by,
My  heart was shaken a bit when our eyes shamefully meet…
I saw the sadness in his eyes, but he has a strong grit in his face,
The strong emotion I felt from him, will definitely chase a concrete dream…
I wish I was affluent enough, to provide the needs of these kids,
As I feel and reckon, they could change their next generation…
