Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday;
Though our journey turns bleak and gray,
Their guiding light remains to stay.

Their counsel heals our wounded heart,
Letting pain finally depart;
As opposed to falling apart,
Our world finds a different start.

Loved ones don't always cause comfort,
They also fetch challenge and hurt;
They push us to grow amid dirt,
Telling us to exert effort.

We hold higher expectation,
And when they don't meet this vision,
Whether in their thoughts or action,
Conjecture leads to frustration.

Love means not constant harmony,
So their own desires disagree;
Leading to heart's hostility,
And to relation unhealthy.

Complex connection says it all,
Joy and delight dwell in the hall,
Sadness and sorrow in the wall,
But lessons learned strengthen our soul.
