Checked by www.howmanysyllables.com>syllable_counter "Time is the wisest counsellor of all.” Pericles ************************************************************** Time Heals Heartbroken Souls In the aftermath of a broken heart That wrenches the soul and tears it apart, A storm arises, weird, wild and woeful Rendering one`s life dreary and awful; The heart brims with dark sorrows and sadness, The eyes drip like a river of distress, Nights are turned to trails of tearful torment And days are transformed to endless lament; The mind is veiled with a shroud of darkness, All thoughts are dulled with layers of bleakness, All along one`s path weird shadows collide And in the inner self bleak feelings hide; Deep within, one feels the roars of thunder Shattering the core breast wide asunder, The whole body resounds with acute pain And the spirit is dulled with stress and strain; The echoes of moments erewhile cherished, The sweet music of voices once relished Now reverberate in the hardened ears Like the strange screeching shrills of ghosts with fear; Memories of broken love haunt the brain And break-up dreams recur times and again, Sealing in the soul scars deep and profound, Not easy at start to rub out around. Yet no wound lies that sands of time can`t heal, Though, with every dawn that gleams, pains one feels, Shine of the sun dispels darkness of night And restores the sparkling sapphire of light; A heartbroken soul soon learns his lesson To ignite a new flame or with reason Scan the depth of his shining inner self Or search the sparkling light within himself; Let the sands of time teach heartbroken souls To rise from beds of sorrows and be whole, To kindle their spirit, greet the new day And dispel the clouds of grief with a sway; With each break of day, life its course follows Like a river to the deep sea does flow, Plucking new strength on the way day by day And new hopes to disperse the gloom away; Time, mightier than the sword, at long end, Transforms into grey ashes every man And sweeps his sweetest or sour memory To the wild wilderness without mercy.
