Poem

Writing my name on Spanish crosses
And in the sands of new Mexico
You paint my face with your favourite colours
And you set me free into the world
You are the banks for my river
You are the leve in a storm
My sea of tranquillity
And in your hands
You mould me to your form
I have been so sombre and forlorn
A forgotten fog horn
A neglected lighthouse
My once broken and jaded smile
Has recovered it's upturned corners
And in the green and purple light
Strobing from our hearts
We can build ourselves a new start
I have bellowed where no one hears 
And I have screamed in outer space
I have found a different voice
To communicate
Don't speak
I know what you're saying
My touch translates our intermingled thoughts
And our bodies talk
Sun flowers at night
And Venus fly traps
To accompany the subtle trap music
Bedroom jams
For this lost lamb
Ferns 4 feet tall
And giant ants
We shrink ourselves down
To the elements
Blood and bone
Rebuild me up
And watch me bust through
Pre-conceived notions 
As to what the broken girl can do
Swinging from lamps that hang in the night
I can almost taste your rain
Sweet surrender and the ending of pain
Heart beating with all the might
Of king Kong fury
Climbing your ivory tower
Knocking it down
Take that, evil empire of restraint
You won't wait
Have me as I am
Scattered and brained
Contents spilled onto pavement
Hometown roads and bereavement
Engulf your revelry
Send in the cavalry
This is our destiny
Hoist a flag for victory
Red and white
Blood and bone
Earth and stone
We have made it
