The Great Escape Perched on a rooftop terrace in glorious sunshine he watches ahead Floats on his sky looks inwards and ponders the magic path unravel ~ A Journeyman Resting ~ Bosphorus water and coffee in hand olives goat cheese dolmades Stray cats balancing on balustrades begging mellow eyed not knowing ~ What Tomorrow Brings ~ Ferries painting whites on blue surface cargo ships contently containing Jonathan Seagull flying higher than most towards freedom unless that is ~ Another Of Bach’s Illusions ~ Yet a concerto of weaving sound -huoh-huoh-huohs rejoicing gullibly Contesting complementing a symphony of conversation with the muezzins ~ Calling For Prayer - Mosques abound as far as the naked eye can see and further afield a Solemn reminder that contemplation and guidance needs be on the voyage ~ Searching For Meaning - The seeker’s view falls on a medley of gables and tin sheets corrugating time In place and motioned by gentle breeze as the City seethes and breathes ~ With Purpose And Fate ~ Resting precariously on a small turret next door risen from labour and toil Tilted and yet in orderly fashion a few ladders copper pipes a broken basin ~ Awaiting Future Use ~ You never know when porcelain fragmented sinkholes might come in handy Yet the metal implements could spear impale and kill when storms quaked ~ Newton Was Grave ~ Twenty meters below sprouts a small courtyard with gracious flowers in emptied Olive oil tins adjacent to a flaked bench adorned with white haired companions ~ Talking In Silence ~ They seem passionate and composed after a long life together resigned to the Circle of creation but surely not dispensable if metal was to descend or ceramics ~ Entered Mind Space ~ Istanbul is known for fires and earthquakes and the serene atrium is not blessed With an escape hatch in case the crooked door got stuck through thunderous ~ Nature’s Signs From Above ~ The traveller on the terrace hopes for long lasting union with his own soulmate And lover takes heed of vantage points and perspectives as the serendipitous ~ Ladder Might Bring Salvation ~ Written in Istanbul on 30th April 2018
